Delete your account

Delete it yourself, in the app

This is the fastest route and takes effect immediately.

1. Open UrCartBuddy — the Android app, or web.urcartbuddy.com in a browser.
2. Sign in, if you are not already.
3. Go to Profile.
4. Scroll to Delete account and choose Delete.
5. Confirm with Yes, delete everything.

If you have a paid subscription it is cancelled first, as part of the deletion. If that cancellation cannot be completed, the deletion stops and nothing is removed — so that you are never left paying for an account you can no longer reach.

Email privacy@urcartbuddy.com from the address on your account. We will respond within 30 days. You can use the same address to ask us to delete only part of your data rather than the whole account.

What is deleted

Deleting your account removes, immediately and permanently:

• Your account record — name, email address, phone number if you linked one, and your settings.
• Lists you own, and every item, tag and category on them.
• Items and file attachments you added to other people's lists, including archived ones. Attachment files are removed from storage.
• Your purchase history — the record of what you bought and archived.
• Your phone-sharing handoffs, Telegram connection, and any pending confirmations.
• Notification tokens and push subscriptions, so the app stops reaching your devices.
• Your AI usage records and activity records.

What is kept, and why

If your number received a WhatsApp handoff attempt, we retain a keyed identifier of that number and the attempt time to prevent repeat paid messages and abuse. This contains no raw number or account reference and is kept only while the handoff service operates. See our privacy policy.

• Lists owned by other people continue to exist. Deleting your account removes the items you added to them, but not the list itself or anyone else's items.
• Refund and chargeback records. If a subscription payment of yours was refunded or charged back, we keep the payment processor's transaction identifier, its event identifier, the reason, and when it was recorded. The link to your account is removed when the account is deleted. We keep the record itself for as long as it is needed for the protection it exists for — stopping a referral partner being paid for money that went back — and there is no automatic expiry on it today. The processor's own transaction identifier remains linkable at Stripe or Google, so we do not claim the remaining record is anonymous. If you want it removed, email privacy@urcartbuddy.com and we will remove it unless we still need it to settle a payment dispute.
• Your sign-in identity, until you ask us to remove it. Deleting your UrCartBuddy account does not close the sign-in identity held by our authentication system (Keycloak), which retains at least the email address you sign in with, because closing it is a separate action from deleting your account data. Email privacy@urcartbuddy.com to have it removed.
• Server logs, for up to 30 days. These are operational records and are overwritten on that schedule.
• Aggregate sign-up counters, for up to 13 months. These contain a date, an allowlisted landing-source label and a count, with no link to an account. Your contribution is not removed when your account is deleted. Small counts can still permit an inference about a visit; reports are restricted to administrators. See the privacy policy.

Deleting your account does not close your Google, Facebook or email sign-in itself. If you sign in to UrCartBuddy again afterwards with the same credentials, a brand new and empty account is created — your deleted data is not restored, because it is gone.

Data stored on your devices

The Android app keeps its own on-device copies — an offline cache of your lists, any data export you generated but did not share, a waiting invitation link, and a note of which list you last had open. These are removed when you sign out or delete your account on that device.

A deletion you start on the web or by email cannot reach a phone, so it cannot clear these on its own. If you are signed in on more than one device, the other devices clear their copy the next time you sign out on them, or are signed out automatically. If the app cannot complete this local cleanup, it tells you so.

Before you delete

You can download your account data first — your lists, items and account details — in a machine-readable format, from the same Profile page. Once the account is deleted we cannot recover it or produce an export.
